What VOLAMUS automates today — and what it does not

We publish this list plainly so nobody buys the wrong expectation. VOLAMUS organizes, calculates and alerts; the technical decision always belongs to certificated personnel.

Automatic today

Runs on its own once your data is in the system.

  • Next-due calculations by date, total time, Hobbs, tach and cycles.
  • Email and in-app alerts when something is coming due or overdue.
  • Flight time, engine time and propeller time rolled up from every logged flight.
  • ForeFlight logbook import plus CSV and Excel import, with hours kept exactly as you keep them.
  • Lookup of airworthiness directives published by the FAA for your aircraft's make and model, linked to the official document.
  • Hours, expense and maintenance reports and exports, ready for your accountant or a pre-buy.

AI-assisted, needs your review

The app proposes; you or your mechanic approve before anything is saved.

  • Reading scanned logbooks and invoices to suggest date, hours and work performed.
  • Suggesting which maintenance item an entry read from a document belongs to.
  • Summarizing a work order or a discrepancy from your notes.
  • Nothing the AI proposes saves itself: every field is shown for you to approve, correct or discard.

Manual, with the system helping

You enter it once; the app organizes, remembers and documents it.

  • Installed configuration: engine, propeller, avionics, appliances and STCs.
  • Applicability and compliance of each directive or service bulletin, signed off by your mechanic.
  • Deferring or closing a discrepancy, and who did it.
  • Documents, photos, invoices and reservations.

What VOLAMUS does not do

Not a temporary gap — a line we will not cross.

  • It does not state that an aircraft is airworthy or approved for flight.
  • It does not certify compliance to the FAA and does not replace a signed logbook entry.
  • It does not decide whether a directive applies to your aircraft, engine, propeller or installed configuration.
  • It does not decide whether a discrepancy may be deferred.

External data sources we use today

  • The FAA's Federal Register, for the text of airworthiness directives.
  • Public registration data, to pre-fill make and model when you add an aircraft (you confirm it against the aircraft papers).
  • ForeFlight, to import your flight logbook.

Airworthiness directives are legally enforceable rules issued by the FAA, and applicability can depend on the aircraft, engine, propeller, appliances and installed configuration. VOLAMUS shows information, open items and alerts based on what you record; determining airworthiness and compliance is the job of a certificated A&P/IA mechanic.
